The Central North Regional Electricity Distributor (Cenored) on Monday announced the appointment of its Executive for Electricity Network Operations, Gawie Awaseb as its acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a period of three months.
Cenores board chairperson Moses Matyayi at a media conference at Otjiwarongo said the vacancy follows the resignation of the company’s CEO, Robert Kahimise who took up a similar position at the Electricity Control Board (ECB).
Kahimse joined Cenored in November 2020 on a five-year employment contract, which he only served for three years. His last working day was 31 March 2023.
“We are now busy with the recruitment of a new substantive CEO, and we hope to complete the process before the end of this year,” he said.
Awaseb has been with Cenored for the past 18 years.
