A one-year-old boy allegedly drowned in a water bucket at Onziku village in the Oshikuku Constituency on Saturday.
The Namibian Police Force’s Omusati Head of Community Policing, Inspector Anna Kunga confirmed this to Nampa on Tuesday.
According to Kunga, the baby is reported to have drowned in a kitchen water bucket. The discovery was made by other children, who ran to notify the parents, who then notified the local police.
“The deceased was playing with others, then left and later others started to look for him and discovered the child drowned in the bucket,” she said.
She added that the deceased body is kept at the Oshikuku hospital mortuary and will be transported to the Okahao Police Station mortuary for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
