First Rand Namibia Limited has appointed Erwin Tjipuka as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for First National Bank (FNB) Namibia, with effect from 01 April 2019.
A media statement issued on Monday said Tjipuka’s vast experience serving clients in both the private and public sector spans over twenty years, with particular success in his role as audit partner and head of the Namibian advisory department, working closely in Business Management and Business Transformation.
“His years of experience are split between time in the audit profession and in senior financial roles in the financial sector,” the statement added.
It further added that the bank is well positioned to capitalise even in the tough economic climate and that they look forward to Tjipuka helping the bank grow even further as a proudly Namibian business.
Tjipuka, a former managing parter at Deloitte Namibia, replaces Sarel van Zyl, who will continue to serve as the First Rand Group’s CEO.
Tjipuka holds an MBA from Maastricht School of Management as well as a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Namibia, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accountancy from the University of Cape Town.
