Staff of the Mobile Telecommunications service provider, MTC on Tuesday donated a sum of N$20 000 to the Roland Grebner PWD Trust Namibia, in Omusati region.
Showing a generous gesture, the staff in their individual capacities, collected and contributed the fund and identified Roland Grebner Trust, in Othika (Elim Constituency) as the beneficiary.
The Trust, which is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), currently runs several programs which contribute to the positive responses in fighting HIV/AIDS. Some of the main activities of the Trust include a soup kitchen for Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC), awareness raising, OVC’s activities and support platform for people living with HIV/AIDS.
In a brief statement, MTC’s Corporate Affairs Manager, John Ekongo expressed that “giving back is a value that is deeply rooted in MTC’s culture, and when the staff, through MTC Care, collectively as individuals decide to effect this culture, we can only achieve better in making meaningful contributions for social enhancement in our societies.
MTC Care is an initiative by the company’s employees who consensually do their bit to give assistance and extend a helping hand, mostly to the less fortunate and vulnerable ones.”
Supplementing the gesture and extending the goodwill further, MTC’s Staff dedicated their time to prepare and serve the kids and elders that are housed at the Trust with lunch.
