FNB Namibia has been an ongoing supporter of the leadership training with the African Leadership Institute and for the past two years 40 hospital administrators from different divisions of the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MOHSS) have been trained. Revonia Kahivere, CSI Manager of FNB Namibia: “This training has proven to be an inspiration for the leaders at the hospitals.
“One of the main focus areas of the FNB Foundation Holdings Trust is Skills and Capacity Development and it is particularly pleasing to see and hear what a difference the ALI training has made in the personal and professional lives and performance of the trainees,” adds Revonia.
Hennely Doeses from the Windhoek Central Hospital said self-discovery was a definite highlight and through that she has been able to lead better. “I wish to follow some of the practical steps, by following the wheel of life – live a balanced life (emotional wellness, physical health, social responsibility and personally developed). Being committed in empowering my juniors and influencing superiors by doing the job well; building strong and better teams to carry out given tasks is now high on my priorities. The African Leadership training is a blessing and apart from my work place, my family life has been transformed as well, seeing as happiness starts at home. I can now communicate well with my children and husband.”
Benita Mujoro, who works at the Katutura Intermediate Hospital, says that the training has made her discover that leadership is more about servanthood. “In order to be a good leader, you must be able to serve those you are leading and not the other way around. I feel enriched in all spheres of my life – not just as a leader but also as a human being. I believe we are all leaders in our own rights, therefore this kind of training is necessary for everyone, leaders or not
