In light of COVID-19, the lives of many Namibians have been impacted and customers find themselves homebound.
Since all broadcasters were classified as essential services, and we always put our customers’ needs at the heart of everything we do, MultiChoice Namibia (MCN) has reinforced its commitment to our local communities by providing financial support totaling N$ 300 000 (Three Hundred Thousand Namibia Dollars) to our 130 countrywide accredited installers as well as maintenance staff, to assist them during this lockdown period, by making things a little easier for them and their families.
MCN understands that social distancing, school closures, and national lockdowns mean spending a lot more time in your home with your family, therefore, we have implemented sanitary processes, as recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO), to help our installers step up their hand, respiratory and personal hygiene. This includes issuing our installers with masks and other items in order to ensure customers are also safe.
Roger Gertze, Managing Director of MultiChoice Namibia, said, “In line with the national guidelines on keeping essential services in operation, our accredited installers will continue performing the required installations. These extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures, so we have adopted new ways of working to keep our people safe and to keep our service to our customers on track. When it comes to our installers, this means doing our part to reduce the risk of the potential spread of infection.
