Business Financial Solutions (BFS) on Tuesday launched an incubation studio and investment fund, Kula Capital Namibia.
In a keynote speech read on his behalf at the event in the capital, Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development, Tjekero Tweya explained that the incubation studio will support high potential start-ups and SMEs, providing them with customised operational and professional support.
Kula Capital Namibia is a venture capital impact fund that offers both institutional and individual investors the opportunity to invest in small and medium-sized, early-stage business across the full economic value-chain of the Namibian economy, he explained.
“BFS’s initiatives support value addition, securing market access at home and abroad,” he said.
Also speaking at the event was Sanlam Investment’s Head of Private Debt, Erica Nell, who said Sanlam is committed to supporting Kula Capital and the entrepreneurs they incubate and fund.
“We will not only support you with a capital commitment of between N.dollars 15 million and N.dollars 40 million but also by introducing entrepreneurs to Sanlam Namibia’s network of businesses that can help grow them into sustainable enterprises,” she said.
