The e-learning programme between the Otjiwarongo’s Educate Academy Private School and Tsumkwe Senior Secondary School (SSS) on Monday was supported with 27 calculators and mathematics instrument sets from a Windhoek based auditing firm, SGA Chartered Accountants and Auditors.
Edugate Academy in August this year started teaching learners of the Tsumkwe SSS with the assistance of its newly-introduced e-learning and teaching technology.
The e-learning technology is connected to the internet, which then transmits audio and visuals of a live teacher in a classroom at Edugate to the learners in Tsumkwe.
The two schools have been both connected to infrastructure, which includes fibre optic cables, smart boards, television screens, speakers and projectors, needed in the learning exchange.
Edugate Academy school representative and founder of the e-learning, Frikkie Louw on Monday said the technology programme is so effective, adding that it is truly needed to all rural schools in the country.
Louw said many stakeholders like the Windhoek based SGA Chartered Accountants and Auditors on Monday also saw the need to support the programme with 27 scientific calculators and the same number of mathematics instrument sets to the Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners of Tsumkwe SSS.
“The contribution is highly appreciated to this Eduvision Project,” said Louw.
Acting Tsumkwe school principal, Barbara Uatananua on behalf of the school received the donation and thanked the SGA Chartered Accountants and Auditors for the contribution.
Headboy of the Tsumkwe SSS, Dione Kasale on behalf of learners, also expressed his deepest gratitude towards the generous contribution, saying it will greatly benefit the Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners of the school.
The e-learning programme offers mathematics, physical science, accounting, biology and English to the learners.
Tsumkwe is situated nearly 270 kilometres east of Grootfontein in the Otjozondjupa Region.
