The office of the Otjozondjupa regional governor on Friday donated 1 464 cans of soft drinks, water and juice to members of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) operating at different roadblocks in the region.

Governor Otto Ipinge’s special advisor, Moses Tjipurua !Omeb, handed over the drinks.

“This donation is meant to thank you and appreciate your hard work at the roadblocks, where your operate while standing in the sun on daily basis,” said !Omeb.

Acting Otjozondjupa Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner Naukalemo Andreas received the donation on behalf of the police officers.

“We really thank you for this donation. It came at the right time when we needed it,” said Andreas.

He promised to distribute the donated soft drinks to all permanent and mobile police roadblocks in the region.

She said about 400 police officers have been assigned to work on shifts at these roadblocks.

The police operation at roadblocks in Otjozondjupa started on 27 November this year and will end towards February 2018.
