FNB Namibia has become a sponsor of the 2017 National ICT Summit this year with an amount of N$ 50 000. The 2017 ICT Summit is themed: “Leveraging ICT to unlock Economic Opportunities for an Inclusive Society.”
Garth Kleintjes, Chief Information Officer at FNB Namibia commented that FNB is a bank that embraces technology and innovation and actively pursues inclusion of the unbanked. “This year’s summit theme aligns closely to our own strategic endeavors. We know that we have to remain innovative to meet the needs of a constantly changing IT world. We are also vigilant of fraud and scam trends and strive to educate our clients consistently, while coming up with ways and means to ensure that our customers’ hard-earned cash is safe at all times.”
This year, hundreds of information and communication technology (ICT) experts and institutions will converge in Windhoek for the 4th National ICT Summit. The summit is scheduled to take place from 9 to 11 October 2017, and will define the roadmap for development and effective integration of technology, as well as the agenda for growing ICT for an inclusive society, while also positioning ICT as a vital tool in achieving Government’s main national priorities of economic growth and development towards the goals of poverty eradication and shared prosperity for all Namibians.
