In a bid to promote development through supporting SMEs, Standard Bank recently made an astounding donation of N$50 000 to the upcoming annual Outjo Tourism and Trade Expo.
Standard Bank’s Outjo Branch Manager Ria Holtzhausen recently pledged the bank’s aid at a recently held fundraising gala dinner at the town.
“Trade fairs for most SME’s and business people are important as it gives them the platform to not only grow their business, but also build networks for future business endeavours. Standard Bank is therefore pleased to be associated once again with this trade fair aimed at strengthening and promoting the local and regional economy through SME’s and agricultural development,” Holtzhausen said during the handover.
This will be the second time that the Outjo Town council is hosting the Tourism and Trade expo. The upcoming expo aims to promote economic development and boost trading activities. The expo is not only an ideal platform for local entrepreneurs to showcase the cultural wares and trade, but also a catalyst for business growth and development for the town.
“This trade fair is definitely a great platform for all of us to appreciate and enhance our country’s cultural and economic diversity and our small town Outjo. I would like also like to thank the Outjo Town Council for their continuous commitment to the people of this town,” she reiterated.
The expo will provide locals with the networking platform to exhibit their goods, and provides potential investors with an opportunity to explore possible business ventures.
“As a commercial bank we feel that it is important to move our regions forward and promote development by partnering this way with local authorities. After all, Namibia is our home and we are here to drive its growth,” she concluded.
The tourism and trade expo will be held on from 2-6 August this year and everyone is urged to make their way to the town to show their support.
