First National Bank of Namibia (FNB) has committed N.dollars 3 million towards four Namibian rugby clubs for the
next three years.
The clubs include Rehoboth Rugby Club, Reho Falcons Rugby Club, Kudu Rugby Club and the Grootfontein Rugby Club.
FNB in a media statement issued on Monday also announced that three other clubs, namely, Unam Rugby Club, Wanderers Rugby Club, and Khomasdal Outfit Western Suburbs Rugby will receive the same sponsorship.“This brings the bank’s commitment towards League Rugby clubs to more than N.dollars 2 million per season for the seven rugby clubs participating in the Namibia Rugby Premier League,” the statement reads.
Chief Executive Officer of FNB Namibia, Erwin Tjipuka congratulated the rugby clubs and urged them to give their best at all times in the upcoming season.
“This sponsorship comes at a time when the sport is being resumed with the league getting the all-clear by the Namibia Rugby Union.
FNB remains committed to the sport and sports development, as we wish to see Namibia globally competitive on all fronts.
We wish you competitive sportsmanship during your games and may the best team win,” Tjipuka said.
All leagues under the auspices of the Namibia Rugby Union, commenced on Saturday, 10 April 2021.
