Green Crisp Farm, situated about 40 kilometers outside Okahandja, has received over N.dollars 61 million through the
Government Institutions Pension Fund’s (GIPF) unlisted investment portfolio.
This was indicated in a media statement issued by GIPF on Tuesday, which stated that food security has become an essential need for Namibia, adding that it is for this reason that GIPF is announcing one of its investments in the agri-business sector.
The farm produces lettuce, cucumbers, and peppers for local and international consumption and it employs 140 employees, of which 130 are females.
GIPF’s Chief Executive Officer, David Nuyoma, said Green Crisp Farming is not only feeding families in Namibia, stating
that countries such as South Africa are also enjoying the high-quality production of these vegetables.
The CEO thus urged the nation to contribute to the economy by buying these local produces, which he said are available in local supermarkets.
