I-Chain Technology and AdaptIT signed a memorandum of understanding that will benefit the University of Namibia and Namibia University of Science and Technology here on Tuesday.
I-Chain provides asset management systems, while Adapt IT provides specialised software and digitally-led business solutions for clients. The partnership is aimed at providing a web-based system that offers easy access to a cloud-based environment, which will assist the education institutions in managing their assets.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, i-Chain Managing Director, Paul Verheul said asset management has become a key engine that drives and contributes to development in the education sector.
“This is a valuable platform to share our insights on what is being done and what can still be done to improve asset management in education,” he said.
Verheul added that it is clear that educational institutions, such as universities, colleges and schools are looking for efficient scanning and assets management solutions to promote compliance with statutory and accounting guidelines within the education sector.
At the same event, Adapt IT Education Business Managing Director, Luxolo Rubushe, stated that the i-Chain system manages and maintains all assets that comply with minimum assets register criteria for all classes of assets including movable and intangible assets.
“The partnership allows Adapt IT to integrate the software with its existing integrator system, thus putting the power in the hands of institutions to manage their fixed assets more efficiently,” Rabushe said.
The signing of the MoU marked the start of the three-day 22nd Annual Asset Management Forum of Southern Africa under the theme ‘Innovative asset management: the x-factor in achieving excellence.’
