While people have always been responsible for managing their own finances; recent developments have made financial education and awareness increasingly important for financial well-being. “Financial markets have become more sophisticated and the variety of products on offer is large,” says Martha Murorua, Executive of Consumer Banking.
FNB Namibia has put together tips on FNB products and services that are essential for customers to know. Martha added, “For example customers do not need to visit a branch to do cash deposits. Cash deposits can be done at any Advance Deposit Taking (ADT) at major FNB Branch ATM lobbies. This is a first for banking in Namibia. Customers can also cancel their FNB Card via Online Banking and order a new personalized card without leaving the comfort of their home – another first in the country.” Customers can also do a card-less withdrawal via the FNB app at any FNB ATM.
“More helpful hints are available on our social media pages and contribute towards a better customer experience, be it banking from the cellphone or laptop at home, buying electricity and airtime, paying DSTV, Box Office and Go TV, paying employees via eWallet, swiping a debit card instead of carrying cash, and the like. Our aim is to make sure that our customers know about the numerous options open to them – so that they can make educated choices regarding their finances,” she concluded.
