Standard Bank on Friday launched its Digital Banking Service, allowing the bank’s customers to access internet banking, the Standard Bank App and PayPulse without airtime or data.
Standard Bank announced that with the new service, their customers can now make real-time deposits into their current and savings accounts and the cash will reflect in real-time.
Through PayPulse, an innovative mobile wallet introduced to the Namibian public by Standard Bank in March last year, Standard Bank clients, non-customers and the unbanked can now make payments at selected merchants, including retail shops, fuel service stations and coffee shops by either scanning a QR code or using a merchant ID or code.
During the launch, Standard Bank also announced that through the App, users can further buy airtime and prepaid electricity, pay municipal bills and DStv and GOtv accounts.
Standard Bank Head of Marketing and Communications, Magreth Mengo said their revamped Digital Banking Service gives a whole new meaning to the word ‘convenience’.
“With our different digital banking channels, you can now do banking at your own pace, own time and anywhere it suits you without the need to have airtime or Wi-Fi because with Standard Bank, data don’t matter,” she said.
Mengo explained that the digital banking channels are tailor-made to individual or business needs and that users do not need a smartphone to transact, buy daily needs or send and receive money.
