Mobile Telecommunications Limited’s Chief Human Capital and Corporate Affairs Officer, Tim Ekandjo, receives the 100 Global Human Resources (HR) Heroes Awards at the 27th World HRD Congress held in Mumbai, India between 15 and 17 February.
Held under the theme ‘The future of the world at work’, The World HRD Congress was attended by 1 300 global leaders from various continents including Asia, Africa and the United States of America.
A media statement availed to Nampa on Monday said the World HRD Congress is a non-profit body that attempts to organise the annual meet with the objective of enhancing tenets of learning, developing, networking and recognising leaders who have added value and made a difference to their profession or organisations.
Receiving the accolade, Ekandjo said he is extremely honoured and humbled to accept this special award not only on his behalf but on behalf of the many leaders who have contributed to his personal growth.
“I also do so on behalf of all the hardworking HR professionals in Namibia and in Africa for staying true to the profession and making their contribution to people development in their respective companies and countries,” he said.
The statement further said that for the last 26 years, the World HRD Congress has been a landmark event of strategic significance to the HR profession.
Raghunandan Lal Bhatia, Founder and Executive Chairperson of the congress, said having carefully worked towards architecting the program in recognition of the talent that rightly deserves to be recognized, their approach is geared towards thought leadership.
“The 100 Global HR Heroes is a reflection of your professional achievements and our belief that you are a thought leader in HR and a contributor of value,” he said.
