AVANI Windhoek Hotel & Casino embraced Minor Hotels Founder’s Day by doing good deeds and giving back to Namibia and the community. Windhoek Central Hospital’s children’s cancer ward was the focus point for the AVANI staff’s charitable activities.
AVANI Windhoek is part of the Minor group of Hotels and its founder, Bill Heinecke uses his birthday, June 4th to ensure that good deeds for the community are carried out by his staff around the world and himself, for that matter.
This year AVANI Windhoek Hotel and Casino made time to put some smiles on the kids’ faces at the cancer ward at the Windhoek Central Hospital. A tough place for any child to have to be. By providing winter blankets and beanies, as well as toiletries and lucky packets the kids were for a little while able to focus on something other than their condition.
This was especially the case when Mickey and Minnie Mouse and clowns showed up and entertained the children with fun activities and making animal-shaped balloons for the kids.
Christille Feris said; “AVANI prides itself on being very involved with the community in Windhoek and in Namibia and doing our little bit for the children at the hospital on Founder’s Day is especially what our founder had in mind when he created it.”
