The Cancer Association of Namibia (WO30) challenges corporate Namibia to step up and host their own “Spray-a-Thon Challenge 2018” this Friday across Namibia.
Spray-a-Thon Corporate Challenge was incepted in 2017 after many companies indicated their willingness to host their own fundraisers in support of brave young Namibians fighting cancer.
Donations received from the spraying of hair in funky and fun colours are all earmarked to impact the CHICA (children fighting cancer in Namibia) fund that supports children diagnosed with cancer.
The Cancer Association of Namibia during 2017 donated in excess of N$160 000 for direct medical costs to Namibian children undergoing cancer treatment. This, while additional transportation and accommodation needs during treatment was also provided through the CHICA Interim Home project.
In addition to rendering a welfare service to patients, CAN also assist with maintenance at the Paediatric Oncology Ward at Windhoek Central Hospital. CAN also supports the interim school project at the ward with needs to ensure children continue to receive educational and mental stimulation while undergoing treatment.
Companies wishing to be part of the challenge are invited to contact Lizelle van Schalkwyk at 061 237740 or help@can.org.na for their “Spray-a-Thon” kits and guidelines.
