Twenty-two-year-old education student Anghuwo Wilika Ndapanda’s life drastically changed in April 2017 when she was involved in a horrific car accident that nearly took her life.
The driver of the vehicle she was travelling in was under the influence of alcohol.
Ndapanda was hospitalised for four months and with the support of her family and friends, she managed to stay afloat and focus on her right leg getting better.
Due to the impact of the accident, she now carries an external fixation required to enable correct alignment as well as facilitating adequate healing of the leg.
Everything that happened to her did not break her and she chooses to focus on the good she still has in her.
She bravely takes to social media often to share her story, which she described in one post as a blessing.
Ndapanda said “I was scared but I guess it was meant to be”.
By posting pictures of her severely fractured leg on Instagram under the handle @-nda-pa-nda she hopes to inspire people from all walks of life to continue striving forward even when life gets hard.
“When I see myself in the mirror I do not see a girl with a broken leg, I see a girl with big dreams. I know there is a reason why this happened to me because it is the same God that gave me all this strength.”
Ndapanda, who has 6746 followers on Instagram, plans to study medicine when she fully recovers.
