According to a statement from the company on Monday, Green Enterprise Solutions developed the AEIMS for the Directorate of Adult Education (DAE) to boost the literacy and numeracy skills of disadvantaged adults and out-of-school youth.
This is to enable them to contribute more effectively to national development, the company said.
The system enables easy retrieval of information and reduces the time and effort multiple offices need to generate statistics on data collected from all the regions, districts and towns.
The company noted that the system will make information such as the enrolment of learners, attendance and performance, teaching/learning materials management and employee management instantly available and accessible in all regions.
“Having access to relevant information, knowing how and where possible challenges may arise and being able to analyse data from any office in the country means that tweaks to the systems and methods of teaching can be implemented at lightning speed,” said the company.
It said the DAE now has an extremely powerful tool to assist them in fighting numeracy and literacy deficiencies.
So far 25 staff members of the DAE, including regional personnel, have been trained by Green Enterprise Solutions staff on the usage of the system with regards to entering statistics and generating reports.
The statement further pointed out that the system, which was designed and delivered by a local team, is proof of Namibia’s potential in high tech solutions.
“It also demonstrates that its information and communication technology
(ICT) sector can become a pillar and driver of the economy, providing solutions not only within Namibia, but throughout Africa and beyond.”
