A phone tower in Leonardville has collapsed, knocking out voice calling and internet service for all in the area.
The MTC owned tower collapsed on Saturday afternoon, 30 September 2017, leaving all TN Mobile and 78 WiMAX customers connected to the Leonardville base station without services.
The cause of the collapse has not been confirmed yet.
Service restoration and time frames will be determined only after engagement with the tower owner, MTC, has been concluded.
Affected customers are urged to contact Telecom Namibia in Gobabis (Tel 062-566300) to arrange for interim alternative service solutions, namely:
– Call forwarding of affected telephone numbers to alternative cellphone or phone number as per customer requirement
– Explore alternative technical solutions to connect affected customers
