Pupkewitz Motors through their GWM/Haval division on Tuesday handed over a P-Series pick-up bakkie to the Cancer Association of Namibia (WO30) that will serve as support vehicle during the organisation’s participation in the annual “Rough n tough Rally for CANcer”.
The event kicks off from Omaruru on Thursday morning with a record 78 rally cars and 35 support vehicles, totalling 280 people participating this year trekking through Damaraland for 3 days to raise awareness and funds for the Cancer Association of Namibia.
“We are a proud partner of CAN and the work they do and applaud the organisers of the rally and all sponsors who make this event a reality,” said Ms Olivia Gents, Marketing & Customer Experience Manager at Pupkewitz Motors Division.
Pupkewitz Motors is an official vehicle partner of CAN and provides vehicles to the organisation on ad-hoc basis for various projects annually.
“Team CAN is participating with our old VW Volksiebus, donated by the late Mr and Mrs List through Namibia Breweries, and together with our colourful sponsored P-Series back-up vehicle I am certain we will cheer on the participants very well,” said Mr Rolf Hansen, Chief Executive of CAN.
The rally teams will depart Omaruru on Thursday morning at 9:00 and have daily challenges and time relays to complete by sunset in order to successfully complete the days mission.
Funds raised during the 2023 event is earmarked for the development of the new palliative care programme by CAN to provide of end-of-life support and care for cancer patients in Namibia.
