On 12 and 20 January 2023, Head of Economic Affairs, Dr. Sulthon Sjahril, accompanied by the Economic Staffs of the Indonesian Embassy in Windhoek, had a meeting with representatives of the Dinapama Manufacturing & Supplies CC to facilitate Dinapama’s visit plan to Indonesia at the end of January. This meeting is a follow-up of the business matching held by the Indonesian Embassy in Windhoek in March 2022.
At the meeting, Mr. David Namalenga, Managing Director, and Ms. Sylvia Kapena, Dinapama’s Senior Marketing and Sales Manager stated Dinapama’s intention to visit Indonesia and seeks the Embassy’s assistance to facilitate the meeting arrangement with the Indonesian firms during their visit.
Dinapama plans to visit various textiles, zips and buttons companies located in Jakarta, Tangerang and Bandung. Ms. Kapena also stated that the purpose of Dinapama’s visit to Indonesia is to ensure the orders made for textile materials, zips and buttons, a total of two “40 feet” containers, would not have any concerns when arrived in Namibia.
Dinapama Manufacturing & Suppliers CC is an indigenous Namibian company that receives assistance and facilities from the Government. Due to the limited textile materials supply in Namibia, Dinapama has been looking for quality textile materials from several countries such as China (Taiwan), India, South Africa, and Indonesia. Dinapama has been importing textile materials from Indonesia since 2014. In 2021, Dinapama invited the Indonesian Ambassador, H.E. Wisnu Edi Pratignyo, to take part in the opening of textile containers from Indonesia. The 20″ feet container contains textile materials from the Indonesian company, PT. Argo Pantes Tbk.
